What a final weekend for the Roots organization! Our players/teams left it all on the field one last time in a Roots jersey. We had several teams crowned as Champions this weekend. Our 2006 Boys, 2006 Girls, 2008 Boys, 2009 Girls, and 2014 Boys all had amazing weekends. The growth and development we have seen from the players on each of these teams has been truly amazing! As the year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to thank the Roots family for an incredible season of soccer. With training officially wrapped up after this past weekend, it’s a perfect time to reflect on everything we’ve experienced together. This season was full of ups and downs, great moments, and valuable lessons. We had teams that brought home multiple tournament wins, players who earned State Championships, Final Four appearances, Regional titles, District titles, and school-wide individual honors. Some of our athletes were even recognized among the top in their city, district, region, state, and nation. Others are now preparing to play college soccer or suiting up with our semi-pro team. But the season wasn’t just about wins. Some of our teams faced real adversity. And perseverance is one of the greatest gifts sports can give us. Because in life, just like in soccer, there are tough days. There are moments you’ll feel tested. And what you’ve learned this year, about grit, teamwork, and resilience, will carry you through those moments. As we look ahead, we’re entering a brand new and exciting chapter for our club. One that already feels like the right move. We’ve had a huge wave of new players come out for tryouts, and the energy is electric. This growth will strengthen some of our teams, especially those who had younger players playing up. This will allow us to form teams in ages we didn't previously have before. We’re so grateful for everything Florida Roots has meant to our youth program. That name won’t disappear. It will live on with our semi-pro teams and in our hearts. It helped lay the foundation for the opportunities we’re stepping into now. And no matter how far we go, we’ll always stay true to our roots. Now it’s time to ride this new wave. The next chapter is here.
